A simple word from the Lord... I was reading through 1 John (the first of three letters written by the Apostle John) in the Bible. This verse "jumped out" and caught my attention.
"No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."
1 John 4:12
After reading the whole book, it becomes apparent that the main message from John is about love. How very much God loves us, that He would send His Son, Jesus... And how vital it is for us to not only love Him, but to love our "brothers", since we who believe in Jesus are now called God's "children".
Upon reading that little verse above, he seems to imply that although none of us can physically "see" God ... by our loving each other, His presence becomes more visible and tangible. Whether it's just the way I was reading it, or what he actually intended to "say", the message fits in with the rest of the letter.
Is there a "brother" that you can show love to today? You may actually help someone "see" God in so doing... Wow, what an honor...
Let's humble our hearts, take a risk, and "...let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." (1 John 3:18b)
All by His grace.
